Sheehy Toyota in Fredericksburg, VA has no markups. I put a deposit on a Trailhunter so we'll see if that holds true when it arrives.

I just talked with Toyota of Anaheim, CA.
They confirmed that they will sell a 4Runner at MSRP, and that they will get some in in March.

For the 25 Toyota's, I've now changed my strategy and will be focused on less than MRSP. I'm in no rush, plus I don't think these will be flying outa showrooms.
Just curious, why do you think they will NOT be flying outa showrooms but yet you plan to buy one. Are you saying you like it, the 6th gen, but not that much and if you can wait and save $1-$2K, you will do that? Again, just curious to your thoughts. Myself, I am thinking they will be flying out of the showroom but I may be under the spell of confirmation bias, meaning, I like them so I think many people like them and will be snatching them up quickly. I could be wrong of course.

I think both statements are accurate, in that the 4R will be in short supply early on, so there aren't likely to be deals to be had. Once the supply of them increases, hopefully soon, my bet is you may be able to haggle a bit. Personally, I'm in the market now to replace my '18 Rubicon, and I'm willing to pay MSRP for a new 4R. But I'm not willing to accept a mark up.

New Tacomas are being advertised for $3000+ below MSRP. I expect that 2025 4Runners will be the same in 9 months. While you really like the new 4Runner there are a lot of people (the majority?) not sold on the turbo 4, hybrid, styling, interior quality and particularly the prices.

Well Said Ike582, I think you perfectly summarized my thoughts on the matter. And Visually Oriented, you can be right as well, perhaps in 9 months haggling will be possible. I get it.

I think you are with the minority if I'm being honest. Looks pretty similar to every other 4R that we've seen now over multiple generations. I also don't see this forum going off like I've seen with other brands where people were chomping at the bit to get one. I'm curious, but have no real expectations at this point. I know how the 4 banger turbo's run, but I've never been a fan of Toyota's styling, and the only aspect that really matters is the interior. I'll know more when I drive one. If it feels and drives like the current generation, I'll be walking.

Is the discount due to the shitty new tranny they are running....I believe this was an issue early on with the Tacoma's?

Yea Toyota issued this TSB (no recall) for the transmission issue:

https://www.tacoma4g.com/forum/thre...cement-9-9-24-updated-w-vin-lookup-tool.6809/

That was issued months ago, so we shouldn't see any of the same issue on the 2025 4Runner transmission.
How do you reckon? For any 4R transmissions that has the issue, here's the procedure to fix. There's nothing to suggest that Toyota has addressed every transmission thus far, hence the bulletin for those that may be affected.

Let's list the dealerships you know of which will sell the 2025 4Runner at MSRP price with no dealer markup. Here's the ones I know of...

Longo Toyota -- El Monte, CA
Elk Grove Toyota -- Elk Grove, CA
Toyota of Anaheim -- Anaheim, CA
Walnut Creek Toyota -- Walnut Creek, CA
I bought my 1997 Toyota 4Runner new from Longo Toyota and it is still my daily driver. I plan I buying a new 2025 from them even though there are many Toyota dealers close to me. They were easy to work with back in the 90's and I decided to stick with them again for my new 4Runner.
