Oh I know. I've seen lots of dealers that have an MSRP only policy also. Just pointing out an extreme markup example. Added a screenshot above btw.
I can only imagine how much a rip off the service at this dealer will be. If they have no shame price gouging by almost 20% then I don't believe they will give you fair quotes on repairs. You make some really good points, for sure. I would definitely not go anywhere near a dealership advertising that kind of markup.

I just had a dealer send me a quote for a 2025 4Runner and included was a $5,000 mark up. I told him to delete my contact information from their database as I would not be purchasing from them.

Kalispell Toyota in Montana has a dealer policy not to markup any vehicles. They are fantastic and my Black on Black TRD Pro is arriving mid-March at MSRP.

Auto delinquencies are at great recession levels and growing fast. This is with record unemployment so that's not good if you are a dealer. If you don't think as a buyer this is good news, you need to simply look at the data....not what dealers want you to believe. Gonna be some great bargins to be had before long - it can't be more clear. Just look at the data.

It because they sense you have already committed to buying one, so they know this no longer becomes a logical purchase, but is now an emotional purchase and their training tells them, this is where they can keep upping the price and playing games....as the price goes up, they gauge interest. When you aren't as responsive, then they will come back with a lower price than, but they have already increased the price of the vehicle to make you think that you "got a good deal" as a result. Don't ever play that game. run, don't walk. At this point, please do yourself a favor and don't EVER pay more than MSRP for your Toyota. And tell them you won't pay more than MSRP.
