I read here earlier in the forum and I searched and I couldn’t find the post. About 100,000 total units to the United States/North America 25% of those are hybrid. 4% of those TRD pro and trail hunter Does that mean there’s gonna be 4% of trail hunters, and 4%TRD pros. Making a total of 8% or was it 4% total for the two. The reason why I ask is pulling the trigger when you see exactly what you like because there aren’t gonna be that many of them.

I think you're referring to these estimated production stats from
https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/thr...024-non-hybrid-first-then-hybrid-models.1885/

Production estimates from Toyota from late last year:

1st year production 100,000+ units
80% of 4Runners will be 4WD
Majority are entry and core grades (SR5 and TRD Off Road)
Trailhunter ~2-3%
Gas - 75%
Hybrid - 25%

So yes, at only 2-3% of 100k production, that would mean only 2-3,000 Trailhunters total, pretty darn rare.

most toyota models will follow a bell curve on trims and productions amount. since the trail hunter and trd pro are on the outside for trims, they will make less of them.

SR5 --> TRD --> TRD OR --> Limited --> Platinum --> TRD Pro --> Trail Hunter

the outliers will be the SR5 / Platinum / TRD Pro / Trail Hunter

the meat of the trims will be TRD / TRD OR / Limited

but also remember, within those trims you have to build the sub trims (TRD OR, TRD OR HV, TRD OR HV Prem)

so if you are only making 20% of your 100k as TRD OR, 20k will be those and within those 20k you will have maybe 10k as TRD OR, 5k as TRD OR HV and 5k as TRD OR HV Prem)

Makes sense. I wonder if the bell curve shape shifts at all in later years - in either direction (towards more basic models or premium models)

it might shift more to the left swapping TRD Pro and Trail hunters to SR5. since the top two are halo trims they tend to not make as much since its such a niche trims and dealers doing ADM make them even more un-reachable cost wise for most if not all consumers.

No way they dont bump the TRD PRO up. They sell every one they make and they know it
