TRD Skid Plate vs. factory underbody plastic shield -- 2025 4Runner TRD Off-Road

@Wutabumr installed the metal (aluminum) TRD skid plate on his 2025 4Runner TRD Off-Road. It sure beats the stock factory plastic shields - photos below.

Installation was a breeze, didn’t even need to lift the vehicle. Just had to remove 8 12mm bolts holding the 2 plastic protectors and then install using 6 out of the 8 bolts you just removed. Yes it felt weird have extra parts haha.​

These are the factory stock plastic underbody shield covering bottom of the TRD Off-Road.

Worthy upgrade for the obviously big step up in protection. And a bit of nice underbody eye candy. The front of it with TRD letters should be visible especially on a lifted 4Runner.

It sure does look great! Do you think it makes it even harder for someone to steal my catalytic converter? It may be even easier to justify buying!

Ahh good question... I wasn't paying attention to the cat location in relation to the skid when I installed it. I'll poke my head under and see what I can see and get back to you!
