Not enjoying the tactics! The dealership site, Toyota site and the window sticker all show sales price, yet the dealership emailed me the offer showing a different sales price. Shouldn't they at least show the correct price, and then a line item for mark-up?

Car dealerships are absolute clownshoes in this country. Even libertarians think they should be regulated into oblivion LOL

I have had many Toyotas thru the years, 6 4R's, etc. When the first 2025 4R models were hitting the dealers, one was coming in 8 miles from us here in central FL. We went there, and said we would take it at MSRP. They did their usual line of BS, then they wanted $5K market adj. $275 to do the title work, said we would not do any better elsewhere. More BS. No sale for us.

Then, went to a dealer we purchased several Toyotas from thru the years, ordered a TRD-OR-PT4WD-Premium, Everest. 3 weeks later, called us, said it would be 3-4 months to get this, take something else, an underground color is on the way. More BS.

One of the guys on here, drove to Louisville, KY from SC, purchased almost exactly what we wanted. Called them, the same unit on the boat now, be here 2/21, even gave us the name of the vessel.

Everest Premium with options. Get it maybe 3 weeks, 945 miles from here.
VIN : JTEVA5BR2S5004371.
Price: $58493.00.
Paying MSRP and happy to do it. Dealers also get "hold back", up to 10% and more, paid by Toyota, EOY.

If I was presented that quote, I would have asked them to explain the $12,100 difference between the sticker price and their top-line price, just to see how they tried to justify that....and then I would promptly told them they were crazy and then gone on this Forum and warned everyone to stay away from that dealership.

Lol, thats exactly what I did and now you all know the dealerhsip (Hollywood FL) . They told me thats just the cost of the vehicle, its hot, everyone is buying them most are all pre-sold, etc etc. it was funny when they said if I changed my mind to call them and i said No if YOu change your mind and want to sell at MSRP, CALL ME! ;) they have already called back 2x but not budging from their mark up.

Not sure if it is worth your time, perhaps tell them you go to an online forum and see what other people are paying for their new incoming 4Runner and nobody is paying anything near that $12k markup.

They may then come back and say that you should not believe what people are saying online about what they are paying for anything because people sometimes hold back a bit on that stuff.

Then you come back and say that none of the people that are revealing their cost on this forum are car salespeople, so they all can be trusted to tell the truth about this stuff.

Well, wait, maybe don't say that, we may have other car salespeople on this forum. No disrespect intended to those folks, I am sure not all car salespeople are con artists.

I'd start answering the phone with "my time costs $4,000 a minute, billed in three minute increments, payable in advance. By placing this call you've agreed to my terms. Would you like to pay via cashapp or wire transfer to begin this call?"

so the msrp is 57k but the paperwork price is 69k?

um they have to show where the difference in price is legally dont they? i mean no right minded bank will go over 100% valuation without proper documentation to support the 69k.

and if i remember correctly, most right minded banks will not finance ADMs

and i do realize the paperwork showing the 69k says not a contract, its legally is toilet paper (work)
