Compact smaller spare included. Narrow tread and definitely not something you’d want to be stuck with in the middle of a trail
Thanks, good to know. I've been eyeing the Limited trim and Toyota website says no full size spare (just like the SR5). I was thinking the Limited and SR5 had no spare tire at all, but now knowing there's a compact spare, that's a little better IMHO, at least much better than a fix-a-flat.

Yes, the 2025 4runner 6th gen can fit up to a 33" spare tire in the spare tire space on underbody.

See: Full-size spare tire: largest / biggest size (diameter) that fits 33" inch tire (33's)
Excellent, sounds like a 265/70R18 or 265/70R17 would both fit then. Glad Toyota hasn't stooped to the level of actively preventing people from adding back features.

One thing that makes me curious though; on some other midsizers I've owned and driven, the exhaust and spare live in close proximity so some manufacturers include a heat shield for the tire. Does Toyota usually just not see a need for it?

More great pics, thanks. And congrats again! Have you figured out how much actual ground clearance there is? Not counting the front air dam, which obv can be removed (and would be by nature in any real off roading lol).

And what does it get for skid plates? Any steel plates below the engine bay, trans or transfer case?
unless you get the specific TRD alum skid plate, all toyota's come with a hard felt like covered skid plate now a days to save a little weight. it started with the 3rd gen tundra and have filtered down to the other BoF models.

Adding a few more pics in daylight. In love with how the car looks

Yes, it's smart looking. Looks good with the Boulder color seats, unfortunately still with all the all black ceiling - my wife and I (our current 4R is her daily driver) are not into the current vogue of black interiors.

Got some pics of the undercarriage for you. I can confirm that this trim does NOT come with a full size spare tire which is of note.

First thank you for this detailed review. beside the third row seats this is the color and trim I am looking at. I have a question on the front undercarriage cover. is that made out of a hard plastic or cloth like material? this can easily be removed for oil change? The reason I ask is I have a 2022 f150 that has something similar and to my surprise it was made out of a cloth type material. it didn't last too long i was not very happy in fact I will never buy another f-150.

I hope I’m wrong but it looks like that cardboard material that tears easily.

Hello,

I appreciate the detailed review.

We have a reservation for a SR5 4x4 in Cutting Edge/Black and no third row. It is showing up on the allocation list for early April delivery.

I like the simple step rails on your build. Not really a fan of the Predator Steps that are being offered as dealer installed. Can you, or someone in the know, describe what option your side rails might have been? Also, any feedback please.

Our build is currently without side rails. I had planned to do aftermarket to avoid something that I didn't really like.

Thanks.
