Drove to KY to from our home in Lake Placid, FL, took delivery OR-TRD-Premium PT-4WD, non-hybrid, then headed to Cincinnati. 2 miles on the ODO, and did not waste any time.
70-74 sometime 82 mph. Looked down once,
23.1, 50 miles later, 22.9, did not pay any attn after that. My TRD Tacoma, V-6, if you kept the RPM's less then 2K, delivers 23 + mpg.
Tacoma Attached.

I'm at 900 miles and 17.3 avg... Mostly city. Most highway trips I take end up being 20 mpg or higher, so not sure how the overall avg is so low. Still breaking it in, but was hoping for 20. I find myself spooling the turbo up a lot by accident. It's just way more fun to drive than my lifted 5th gen. Just filled it up with 93 octane yesterday which supposedly gives it a power and efficiency bump. We shall see...
I’m getting about the same as you. I drive 50 miles a day about 70% Highway. I noticed if I keep it around 70 and baby it i get close to 20. People in Florida are in such a rush so if I do less then 80 people trying to run me over and anything over 80 I’m getting around 17mpg

I am still in the break in period around 1100 miles so I’m hoping it improves.

Dropping another quick update for everyone. Consistently getting an average of around 21-22 mpg with mixed driving between socal traffic ridden highways and the hilly Laguna area.

Drove down to San Diego today at a brisk pace between 75-85 mph and got nearly the 25 mpg value. Extremely impressed with the efficiency of this new powertrain.

I just hit 1k miles, halfway through my first tank of 93 octane and mpg is rising. Sitting at 18.7 currently mixed driving. It actually WENT UP today when I was in bumper to bumper traffic….

Just got back from a round trip drive from Boise, ID to Elko, NV. About 500 miles round trip over a couple mountain passes. 1/4 was between 70-80, 1/4 around 45 through the twisty parts and 1/2 around 55-65. It was up to 25.5 before I got back on the freeway doing 80. Photo is at the half way point when I got to Elko.

Wanted to give a quick update. At roughly 2000 miles.

Recently installed 35” tires so expected decrease in MPG. It’s been about 6 days since install, I’m at a consistent 15.0 - 15.3 smiles per gallon.

Driving in eco mode, and usually have AC on. Mostly city driving.

Picked up my Sport premium yesterday and on the drive home in the nasty, pouring, drenching rain could not see the road in front of me. It was less than 200 miles using ACC. It took almost 5 hours to travel 168 miles. It was not a fun trip. Especially behind drivers who refuse to turn on their headlights in that kind of weather. If you’ve ever traveled highway 70 you know it’s a shitty highway. The computer reads 20.4 MPG. I will hand calculate the next fill ups.

Why are you using 93 octane?

Apparently this 4banger and the ECU like 91 and 93. These guys did a bunch of dyno testing on a Tacoma and say it added as much as 20 hp. I’m only 3/4 tank in but not sure if I noticed much yet. My mpg did go up but I’m also still breaking it in.

Okay, this is the first tank with my new 255/75/17 tires on the SR5, mostly moderate speed highway with some city and a bit of 4wd on the beach - 23.34mpg. I hand calculated based on the difference in tire sizes. I used 87 octane, mainly on normal mode, but using the the cruise control at speeds of 60-65 mph. I was at about 320 miles when I filled up, there was still about 1/4 tank left.
