The Pro matte alloy wheels are a different offset from what the other trims run. It's like 1" difference in offset which will result in the tires sticking way past the fenders on a non-Pro/Trailhunter. The 5th gen Pro that was more or less the exact same fitment.

Now, there is an 18" TRD accessory wheel that is available on TRD Off Road per the configurator. It is the same 18" TRD matte black wheel available on the Tacoma.

Yeah, those are the wheels I'm referencing. I saw they were only available as an option on the OR. I guess the issue is tire size, since there are some various sizes now vs 5th gen. I'm looking at a TRD Sport Premium (20" Wheels) and was hoping to get a more aggressive wheel and tire combo without having to go aftermarket immediately.

I don’t see the sway bar disconnect mechanism listed anywhere. Standard for the TRD OR would be a nice surprise.
Here's confirmation from the official 2025 4Runner Toyota website that SDM (Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism) / Electronic Sway Bar Disconnect is standard on the TRD Pro and Trailhunter. 👍

Typically the accessory wheels get the tires that ship with the vehicle. They take the tire off the OEM wheel and remount it to the accessory wheel. That's why the 18" accessory wheel isn't listed as an option on the SR5 (17"), Limited (20"), Platinum (20"), or Sport (20"). That wheel isn't technically available on the Tacoma TRD Off Road (17"), either, for the same reason. It is available on the Tacoma TRD Sport. What's wild, to me, is that they have a 17" wheel and an 18" wheel that is more or less the same style between the Tacoma and 4Runner TRD OR trims.

IMO, just buy the 18" wheels from the parts counter and mount the tire that you want on it. Sell the 20" wheels and tires on facebook marketplace. You'll get surprisingly decent money if you do it before you put many miles on them.

But what about TRD Off Road? SDM is available on Tacoma TRD Off Road.

SDM sway bar disconnect isn't available for TRD Off-Road or any other trims (besides being standard on 4Runner TRD Pro and Trailhunter).

Oof. That sucks. Wild that they take a feature available on like 50% of the Tacoma volume and limit it to like 8% of 4Runner volume.

I had KDSS on my ‘16 4Runner and missed the thick sway bars when I went to a ‘23 Pro (which admittedly rode a ton better than the ‘16 even though the handling was lacking). The SDM seems to make a huge difference on the Tacoma regarding articulation. So, for the 4Runner Off Road, we either get sloppy handling and good articulation or tight handling and give up articulation depending on the spring and sway bar combo selected. Another advantage of a mid trim Land Cruiser.

I really wish the TRD ORP came with dual climate control. That is just a no brainer for our family. :-(

Could the lack of the SDM option for the OR and ORP trims be due to a parts shortage? What are the chances that the 2026 4Runner will have a SDM option?

Impossible to know, really.
